Is there any difference between 3 and 2 or is it the same? Looking at buying a Pixel phone because of the camera picture quality and wondering if no difference, I probably should get the pixel 2 xl then.

Thanks!

Is Best Shot available on 2 XL now?
Best Shot is a bad feature. No point using it. Google really dropped the ball with that feature.

Best off using burst shot as it'll keep taking photos (won't limit itself to 9 or so photos) and stores them at higher resolution, rather than terrible 400kb, 0.8mp images.

Just a guess but top shot might be more frames per second than burst mode in which case higher resolution photos are probably not feasible. The shots are OK for someone who wants a specific shot but for pixel peeping and cropping it's not adequate. For me burst mode works.

The rear should be same on both but the pixel 3 has the 2 camera for selfies if you like that . So camera wise should not see much difference but other things like screen,ip water resistant, speakers, wireless charging and battery life are better on the pix3

This ^^^

The mode is meant for quick snaps and sharing. Once you need to edit at all, you will quickly run out of resolution. It is effective for what it was meant to do. Not every photo is taken to be archival quality.

I have probably taken few selfies than 95% of people alive today. I will say though, the Pixel 3 selfie cam is a step above any that I have used previously. I took a series for my Movember page this year, and the improvement over last year's series was undeniable. Last year I switched to getting somebody to take my picture, not so this year.

Lol...I'm not a selfie person either , my wife on the other hand OMG.

Considering that, of the 7.7 billion people on the planet approximately 80% of them live in poverty (less than $10/day) and therefore probably don't even own a cell phone, I'd say that's a rather unfair comparison.
