Camera Flash and Photo Lag

Sorry if the fix is obvious, but how can I fix it so that when I take a picture, there is no lag time between when I push the button, and when the flash goes off? I have yet to take a picture where I was remotely close to taking the photo I wanted. Thanks for the help everyone!

I think the only way is to turn off the auto focus its what causes the lag.

For autofocus and delay press the middle of the screen until it takes the picture.

how do you turn off the flash? could not find setting.

While in the camera app, is the first icon from the top, looks like a lighting bolt. Can't miss it.
