When transferring large files via Pc to the phone i am having issue with when the file is about 1/2 done the pc closes the phone window and have to go back to "ThisPc " to re open the phone back up . What the heck ? Also, when connecting phone to pc my connection setting doesnt stick where i had it set to the last time used which is "transferring files". Is there a way to get it to stick so i do not have to change it ? Seems it should auto detect and automatically switch. Probably a Windows 10 issue.

That sounds like a Windows MTP connection issue more than a phone problem.

A few things to try:

1. Use a different USB cable – make sure it's a full data cable, not just a charging cable. A lot of USB-C cables will charge but drop the connection during large transfers.

2. Try another USB port on the PC (preferably a direct motherboard port on the back instead of a front panel or hub).

3. After plugging the phone in, pull down the notification shade and make sure USB is set to “Transferring files / Android Auto.” Sometimes Windows reconnects it as charging only.

4. If Windows keeps dropping the device mid-transfer, open Device Manager > Portable Devices > Samsung device, uninstall it, then reconnect the phone so Windows reinstalls the MTP driver.

5. For the setting not sticking: unfortunately Android resets USB mode to "Charging" by default for security, so it usually won't stay on file transfer permanently.

Optional trick that sometimes helps:

Enable Developer Options Turn on Default USB configuration → File Transfer
