Camera glass breaks easily?

Yeah, I kept the plastic cover that was already on the camera lens since it doesn't cover the actual cameras, flash and sensors. It adds a little more protection from the actual glass getting scratched when I put it down. All these reports of people breaking their glass is all BS and don't want to take the blame of being just plain careless. It's a protruding part of the back of the phone. If you put it down carelessly or drop it flat on it's back it'll definitely crack that piece. Yeah, LG should've designed it differently but people shouldn't complain about something they already new about when buying the phone especially if they didn't put a case on it. I don't use a case so if my lens cracks then I take full responsibility.

As expected, the issue spread quickly on media sites. If LG does not quickly respond to this, it will hurt their sales. Not a battery issue, but still a huge inconvenience to customers if it happens and seems very possible to happen.

LG should get ahead and help guide the narrative rather than pull a "Samsung".

There is what, 3 people? They gave out hundreds of review units a month ago here in the states, and its been available in south korea a month. Have not seen any cases of this.

One of the broke screens was from the scratch guy, and he was using a level 7 blade. Thats pretty high up on the scratch scale! And look at all those drop test online. None shattered and they were holding them up high.

Same happened with the Note 7. Just a few and the media latched on. Instead of a burning jeep, we have a broken camera glass meme.

LG needs get in front, or get ran over like Samsung by media rubes. Good news this ain't fire involved.

Samsung's just a few though was with a lot more sales already.

This reminds me of the gorilla glass 5 saga with the Note 7 lmbo!!! I didn't put no screen protector on that phone and never got a scratch. Lol people blow up anything lol poor sheep.

Yeah and we keep it alive by commenting on this thread.... Myself included.

You know they want to find something for attention. The note 7 recall was a cash cow for clicks.

So few cases on the cam lense, I bet more people broke screens from dropping in the short time of v20 release. Once something grabs a little traction.......... The drama starts. Yes I am optimistic, I have to be for my sanity after the few months of drama I had with the N7

Yup, feel the same way - totally out of the N7 drama mode - even the S7edge is burning in the latest news..

I just got my V20 from T-Mobile at 4PM EST. I'm finally able to test the camera at 11PM EST and I notice some light flares in the picture. I turn my phone around and the glass is already cracked. Not even 24 hours yet, not even 12 hours.

Awwww this really sucks !!!! I'm very sorry to hear this and now this is like the 3rd cracked camera lens here with the coworker exchange , soccermom jb4kats and now you posts !!!!

I'm and the other Note 7 survivors are now reliving yet another phone issue it seems ugh ugh ugh !?!

Keep us posted and good luck !!

There is a YouTube video with the guy doing the scratch tests on phones. He scratches the lenses and it cracks seconds later. There is another picture of a shattered lens on reddit from a guy that had it for 5 hours, he claims "it just shattered out of the blue and he noticed it that way" but who knows the truth.

I don't think this is a widespread problem, it's just a little overblown Internet drama over a few cases. I don't think the rumors need to fly this early on a great phone. By the way, how many seperate incidents did you actually see on reddit with broken lenses?? Have links to each one?

ho knows why the one guys lense broke, I know human nature is to automatically say it is not out fault and try to make the situation seem like it wasn't caused by us when it may have been. The test video crack is from a purposesly stressed lense, the guy tried to scratch the **** out of it!! Glass is glass and will crack in the right/not so right situation

Exactly! I also think its an overblown drama.

This just happened to me. No drops that I can recall, and the glass shattered. So far it hasn't affected the camera, but it's really annoying. I don't like having a broken phone. Now that I know this is a "thing", I don't think I'll be getting it fixed, either, as it will likely happen again.

I made the switch from Samsung to LG with the G3 (which I loved), moved on to the G5 (which was an absolute turd) and swooped on the V20 on a great Black Friday deal. That's two strikes from LG. Looks like I'll be jumping back to Samsung next generation.
