So finally got around to messing with the camera and during zooming in once you go past a certain point it's bad pixelation or Graineness really just ruins the pic or video , I have checked all settings and there's nothing I can change, I did turn off motion for pictures didn't really care for that, but after a certain Zoom Point pictures look terrible in all different kinds of lighting conditions.

That's because it's a digital zoom, which means it is just cropping the image/video then making the image bigger. It isn't an optical zoom, where the lens focal length physically changes. There are no settings to fix it. The only way to over come it is to buy a separate zoom lens kit that attaches to the phone, or (if possible) get closer to the subject.

There's no telephoto lense, it's a digital zoom. I would suggest taking the pic and cropping it afterwards if you want to get a little closer.

Yeah, pretty much all cell phone cameras are going to have this issue. I pretty much never zoom with my phone because of it.

Thanks to everybody for their input that makes sense.
Have to experiment some more outside tomorrow

Doing a little research my last two phones had 2X optical zoom before it went digital

Just taking random shots today different conditions quick quick picks, and I'm very impressed super Snappy to, nothing no pics worth posting there just random shooting, but good software Hardware

I think the camera is pretty amazing compared to what's available. I think it completely blows my Note 8 away. Looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against the iPhone X

I returned my Pixel 2 today, however, I had a problem with really bad graininess when zoomed in even a little bit, especially in videos. Turns out, I had 60fps enabled. Switched it back to 30fps and issue went away.

Finally got outside to take some pictures today, birthday party tonight, impressive camera look clarity is just unreal, and the color spectrum is right on, don't want to change the coloring at all
