Camera lag on nougat

Ever since nougut, when I take a picture with the camera app it takes 2 to 3 seconds for the shutter to take the picture. It's painfully slow. Is anyone else having this issue?

My camera takes a few seconds to take a picture, however I also have HDR mode on.

It certainly takes a full second, maybe two at the outset (I don't have a stopwatch handy so I can't be more accurate) from the time I press the shutter until the camera snaps. This is with HDR on and the flash set to Auto.

I have hdr on but I really like to have it on. I'll try the camera with it off.
