Camera not very good

My other friend has a G2 and even their pics look better indoors. Try taking a picture of a light source like a lightbulb or be in a building where the is an incandescent light along with light coming in from outside and its terrible. What did HTC do to make the indoor pics suck so bad and they even made the G2. This is going back.

My camera works superbly both indoors and outdoors. Indoor available light with the fast f2.0 lens and no flash exceeds my expectations. It surpasses my original EVO and my 3D by a very wide margin and is amazingly good enough that I stopped carrying my Canon P&S.

Ok, so I messed around with the settings. I fixed one of the issues dealing with the light source; I made the saturation be -1 and everything turns out way better. Maybe I don't have to return the phone :D :D I really like everything about this phone. Maybe it was just my camera, but everyone who complains about colors and light sources, try turning the saturation down to -1. The camera was the only thing that was bothering me.

It edges out the 4s camera imo I've seen the 4s take some absolutely horrible indoor grainy pictures that look like a 3 mp pic. It is everything to do with lighting and don't expect the flash to be perfect and make any dark room light up perfectly, bc I've never seen my sisters/friends 4s do it either.

All about settings I've learned. Drop the saturation to -1 and remove widescreen. Recently got back from a trip to NYC and played with the camera quite a bit.

I'll upload some panoramic pics come morning.

Manual focus works best.

I am a pro photographer. I have multiple Canon bodies and lenses. I shoot lots of pics. I gotta say - take the time to learn how to use the Evo camera. I love it. Like a previous poster said - I won't use it to shoot my next wedding, but it's more than capable as an every day average. I already made a 16x20 print off an evo 4G LTE photo and it's crisp and clean. No complaints here.

care to share some of your tips?

I've prob spent more time with my camera then one should..haha. Everyone says change saturation and iso but do not change anything!! use auto feature and do burst feature as 2nd or 3rd picture almost always has better focus.

The way you upload can take pictures quality down. Uploading to FB via sense does a good job, same with google+ instant upload and lastly drop box. Check out these picture I've taken. This phone camera is amazing! Lowering your saturation will make pictures look worse on the PC.

I'm a photography hobbyist (Canon DSLR's) and I think the phone has a great camera, certainly comparable to the iPhone 4s and WAY better than the camera on the original EVO 4G.

I don't understand the complaints here - what phone has a camera in a different ballpark than the new EVO?

I challenged my buddy with an iPhone to a camera shoot out.haha. Needless to say afterwards he was bowing down

Those are all outdoor photos. I said the outdoor photos look really nice. It's the indoor photos and low light that aren't as good.

Yep same with other phones. My s2 same thing unless I get that prefect shot with the flash, which is hard to do. My wife galaxy nexus terrible low light. will see how s3 compares but ya regular light pictures are great.

I've noticed the flash isn't as good as the OG EVO. Of course that one had 2 LEDs while the EVOLTE only has one, which is more common. But the exposure isn't on par with the OG EVO. But I love the the relatively small lag time of the shutter!

Been playing with low light settings for pictures and portrait mode seems to have the best results.

Quite a bit of delusion in here. How is it that pretty much every review puts the 4S, GS2 and GS3 photo quality above this phone yet everyone here seems to manage to get better pics lol...right. I still haven't seen any pics posted in this thread that look good to tell you the truth. I get the fact that some folks are trying to justify the purchase but come on. I'm sure we're looking at the same pics here.
