Camera Pictures deleted after Installing Kitkat

Last night I took a picture of my dinner and sent it to a friend. The next morning the KitKat update was available.

I downloaded and installed it without issue, but then later in the day I checked my pictures and there was only one left in my Camera Gallery, the picture from the night before of my dinner.

Has anyone else lost their Camera Gallery pictures after updating to KitKat? Would kind of like them back, but assuming it's too late now.

I've tried restarting and even used a file browser to check the gallery folder itself and they're just not there.

Might wait a bit or even restart. I recall once losing my Gallery but then it came back.

I've restarted and checked the folder manually with a file browser and they're not there anymore. I hope waiting solves it. Such an odd issue to happen out of nowhere.

This happened to me before and I had to use astro file manager to view the photos. Once I did they reappeared in regular album

My photos were all still there.

Do yourself a favor going forward - turn on Google+, Dropbox, Box, SugarSync, etc., automatic photo upload.

Did you ask your friend if he ate it? KitKat for desert probably too. UNFRIEND him/her

Checked with Astro, was one of the first things I did, the files aren't there either. Checked "show hidden files" as well, just in case.

I'm having the same problem as the OP
Now that I've read your post it's only on pics I sent to someone
Sent from my HTC6525LVW using AC Forums mobile app

This kind of happened to me. I'm writing about it on another post at:
http://forums.androidcentral.com/samsung-galaxy-note-3/398224-cant-open-images-sd-card.html

Mine seems to be related to the fact that my images were being stored on an external SD card, and that KK altered how that process works - this potentially corrupted them somehow. They show as being there, but maybe with a type of "broken" icon, but many with the normal thumbnail. But nothing after the KK install will pull up at all when I want to see them more than a thumb.

I'm trying a couple things and hopefully they'll work. Will let you know!

Has anyone found a solution for this? This JUST happened to my droid MAXX. Haven't done any updates recently. when I plug into the computer and go into internal storage I am unable to locate any of my pictures. They seem to have vanished. Not cool. I've tried a few reboots but no luck so far.

ANYONE???????

Yesterday, I updated my phone and my entire gallery was deleted. I have Droid Razr Maxx HD. All other photos downloads, instagrams, photos from messaging are still intact, but the 900+ photos in my gallery are gone. Does anyone know how to recover these?
