anyone else upgrade from the Note 4?

I'm torn on the issue...I'm convinced my Note 4 took better quality images but didn't have nearly as many options, features, or filters.

Anyone else notice this or is it all in my imagination??

Probably subjective, but I've had the Note 4, the 5 and now the S7 Edge and quality was very much improved on the Note 5, and the S7 pretty much is the same with a much faster shutter and stellar performance in night shots.

A lot of it is subjective. I still find quality disappointing after what I got used to on an LG G4 but I doubt many would agree that the latter takes better pictures. Though I can't argue with the app launch speed.

I disagree, having used a G4 too :P So yeah, it's all in the eye of the beholder. If you think the pictures are worse and that's a deciding factor, then time to look elsewhere. Choose what you like, not what reviewers or we like :P

They're still very good and, for the most part, the pros of the phone make it worthwhile anyway. The camera is way down my list of what I want in a phone really, so it's only a tiny blot for me.

This is the picture I like to show folks when referencing my Note 4...no special lens or anything, just a very patient subject. The camera was truly amazing...and that's not even the original, that's a download from my FB page.

The guy at Verizon said he felt the S7E had a better camera than the Note 5.

I'm not criticizing the phone...I'm looking for pointers in a round about way

I had the G4 before the S7 edge and i agree the G4 camera was better in certain situations. Mostly scenic pictures, you could crop quite alot without losing much detail. But the S7 IMO is better for speed, focus and colours, I have young kids so the s7 is better for taking pictures of them, the G4 sometimes would randomly at times not focus quick enough and leave faces or other parts of the body blurred.

Definitely would agree there, the speed of the app and the focus on the S7 cannot be beaten. And in fairness, as you mention, the only pictures I really ever took was of scenery and landscapes which would explain my preference of the G4. I never used the manual mode on it, nor have I ever used the Pro mode on this phone.

Have you tried landscape mode? It's a quick setting that adjusts for scenery.

Nvm. I got confused. The S7 does not have landscape scenery mode.

The S7E is not impressive to me at all in terms of camera. I prefer my note 4, note 5, and 6P camera way more, s7s camera in lower light is washed out and blurry. Pictures also cant be zoomed in much or you can see pixels...
