Camera question, and developer settings question

I have noticed my multitask button has begun to lag when I press it. Is anyone else having issues with the phone doing 'too much' multitasking? I was looking through the dev settings and I saw you can change it to end background tasks sooner but I don't know if that will help anything.

I also feel like my camera app takes too long to open up. When I swipe to my camera off of the lockscreen it takes about 4-5 seconds for me to be able to press the button to take a picture. When I open the app normally it doesn't take as long, but it doesn't seem quite as fast as the Galaxy Nexus. Also seems to take about 2 seconds for it to focus on anything before it can take a picture, but if I recall correctly the GNex is able to take photos almost instantly. Is this normal?

I have only downloaded about 10-12 apps for social media and news. I have Juicedefender but I have begun to feel like it isn't doing much for me either.

I have been using Nexus 4 for about a week without reboot and it work flawlessly. no lag what so ever.
even if there is no problem I would reboot it once a week just to make it start fresh.

I use faceunlock and it starts as soon as i press the unlock button. it only takes about 1 sec to detect face and unlock. I think you have some problem with your OS.

Update all your apps. Update your OS to latest version. reboot. if that didnt fix do a factory reset.

Do you have the issue with the screen rotation taking about a second when you're in the camera app? I've seen other people mention it, but I don't know if that's an android 4.2.1 issue or not.

I am going to try a restart and see if the camera still takes long to get to. I had the lockscreen widget policy as well as the fixed clock and just deactivated both, but that didn't seem to help either.

I would begin by uninstalling JuiceDefender. Such apps can have all sorts of unanticipated effects.

yes, a split second delay. hopefully a software would fix it.

I have uninstalled juice defender and I no longer get any weird connection issues and I get the same battery life regardless.

I'm still wondering about the camera from the lock screen. I expect it to launch almost instantly considering this phone is a powerhouse. Anyone else have any ideas? How long does your phone take to go from lock screen to taking a picture?

Mine is about the same time to load from the lock screen or directly from the app.
