camera question(s5)

How can I take a video but also take pictures. If I can't, how can I take a snapshot from a video? I'm new to smartphones so any help would be appreciated. Thanks.

There are some phones, though whether yours I don't know, that allow you to tap the screen while you're shooting video, to save a still photo at that point. My Nexus 5 is supposed to be able to do it, but when I tapped the screen while making a video of a steam train, nothing happened. All I got was a video with a violent jerk at the point where I'd walloped the screen.
Whether you can extract a still photo from a video...probably with a suitable app.

On the Galaxy S5 just take video.
You'll see a camera icon on the screen.
Touch that camera while recording video to take a picture.

Now, while watching a video ore even recording a video. You can take a screenshot of said video.

To take a screenshot, press the power and home buttons at the same time for a second or two until you hear a click and see a white frame around the display.
The home button is the big center button at the bottom of the display.

I believe that you cannot take a photo if you are using your video at the UHD setting.
