camera resetting to lowest resolution

My wife's Epic 4G keeps resetting itself to the lowest camera and video resolution settings. So when she takes out her phone to use the camera or camcorder, she is taking very low quality pics and video. She is smart but not savvy enough to check the setting each time...and she uses the camera a lot!!!

What is happening? How can I set to phone to keep the resolution I want?

I did find another thread from 2010 but there was no answer.

Is her phone stock, or has it been rooted, rommed, or otherwise altered?

If it's bone stock, you can go into application manager, and clear the cache/data for the camera and see if that helps. Otherwise, you may need to factory reset, failing that, odin flash to 100% stock, and failing that, a trip down to your local sprint store to show them what it's doing.
