The default resolution is 3264x2448. But I never print photos - only use them in email attachments or posting online. Is there any reason to use a resolution higher than the minimum (640x480)? At the default setting, photos average about 8mb. I don't know how Google Photos' compression works, but a few dozen photos will lock up the phone for hours while uploading backups to the cloud. Wondering if that would be substantially alleviated by using a lower resolution. Any thoughts?

Let the max. resolution, but as a storage use ¨SD Card. And after then, backup you photos to cloud. (From SD card, not from phone):)

I take all pictures in max resolution except when I know they will be used on ebay or some other low res project. You can never tell when that last photo may be important and you want to blow it up and print it!
