Having been disappointed with my wife's OG camera on vacation, I never really used the one on my TB.
However, I recently did some test shots from the GNex, played with them in PhotoShop, and I have to say I'm pretty impressed. Colors, levels, exposure (per histogram) all spot on. A bit of sharpening, par for the course, and they look very good at 100%. Reduced size to ~600x900 and they look almost like they could have come from my D3. Very impressed.
