Camera "sharpening image"?

Once i took a picture and text popped up saying "sharpening image"? Whats this about?

This seems to be a native feature of the camera app. If you open the Camera, then go to its settings, is there an option to turn off auto-sharpening? Or is there some other shooting mode that doesn't do it? If there's a Manual mode, try that.
