Hi all

This is a question to all those who currently have an HTC One. I am getting one imminently as a work phone, and I am often taking snaps up a ladder, and so need to be able to go into the camera mode easily and quickly. At the moment I have an S3 which is a great phone, but it's right right PITA taking a snap with it, it takes ages.

So, can someone please let me know how easy it is to get the HTC into camera mode, and how quickly it will do it?

Many thanks!

Pretty much instantly. Like 1/2 a second. Just put it in your dock, then when you turn on the phone it is right there an you click it, it opens and is ready to shoot. 1/2 second tops.

Althouigh, you may find a phone with a dedicated camera button easier to use, and the software to adjust settings is a bit less than user friendly, imo

Keep in mind that if you use a third-party launcher (I use Nova Launcher), you can actually have two separate docks.

One that's based on HTC Sense and is visible only on your lockscreen. I have phone, email, camera, and messaging there.

And then the other that's your normal Nova Launcher dock. Again, I believe this only applies if you're using a third-party launcher*? something I would highly recommend.

That means it's a quick swipe up from the dock on your lockscreen to start the camera. Then the One's camera app shoots really quickly.
