Camera Struggles To Focus

Hi all,

I've just been taking photos and realised that the camera seems to struggle with focusing.

It seemed to want to focus on the further away objects rather than the closer ones that I used touch focus on.

Even on close ups it struggled to focus and the object remained blurry. It even struggled to focus on my hands.

Admittedly the light was low indoor light. Maybe I am expecting too much after reading the reviews of the camera in the edge and note 4.

I guess I'll try again during better lighting to sees what happens.

Does anybody else's do anything similar before I think about returning it.

Thanks for all replies.

It focuses by contrast. If there is none, it can't focus. The contrast goes down fast as the light level goes down.

Stand outside on a sunny day with a tree about 30 feet away and a person about 6-10 feet away. See if it focuses on the person. If it does, it's working. The edge case (how dim a light will it work in) differs by device (within the same model) and isn't usually checked.

Also, changing the app you use might change something. Try Camera FV-5 Lite. For a free app, it's pretty good - better than the native Android Camera app.

Mine also has trouble focusing. I decided to try the Google Camera app which seems like a better app. I do have one question, however. How would I get the actual button used to take the picture to display on the edge screen rather than the bottom of the screen in the Google Camera app? The camera button is on the side for the default app but not the downloaded Google Camera app.

I've been having this same issue and it kills me when I'm at work trying to use my camera and I have to hear someone say "should've bought an iPhone". I appreciate you guys troubleshooting some solutions.

I think Vader may have it with recommending to clear the cache. I'm hoping that fixes it.

Nope im back to Sq one
same issue still :(

Make sure that the film that's its packaged with, has been removed from the camera lense. With that said, I had to send my Note 4 back for another one due to the camera not wanting to focus immediately on opening. Got a new one and problems resolved.

I sold mine cos did not have Warranty

& got a New One with Warranty :)

BACK TO Sq One :(
Same Issue again, just my luck I guess will be taking it to Customer Service
