Camera takes pictures randomly.

I've noticed that my camera will take a picture randomly. It can be sitting on a table and it will take a picture and even ude the flash. It does this in my pocket, on a table, in my car or anywhere at any time. I have lots of pictures of my ceiling and the insides of my pocket to delete. This is a totally random event that may occur 3 or 4 times a day or obce every 2 or 3 days. Anyone else seeing this happen? Yes, I have the 4.3 update but not sure if this was happening before 4.3 or not. Thanks for any suggestions anyone may have.

Yes, this has been happening with me too. I'm going to try that turn on/turn off the flash for notification thing to see if that might be related somehow.

Thanks for your reply. Can you tell me more about using flash gor notification? I haven't heard of that and can find no way to do it. I appreciate any ingo you can provide as this is becoming more and more annpying.

No I have not done reset. I'm a relative newcomer to Android and a bit shaky on doing anything drastic.

The flash notification that the poster in #2 is referring to causes the flash to go off whenever a text message, email or other notification is received. This is probably unrelated to your issue since other people aren't having random pictures show up when the flash goes off.

If you're somewhat new to Android then a Factory Reset might be considered drastic. Unfortunately I don't have a better idea. I assume that this problem just started after the update? And you didn't install any camera apps at the same time?

for some ideas on how to be sure your phone is properly backed up before performing a Factory Reset.

Thanks very much for the help. Yes I believe it all started after the 4.3 update. And, yes I did install a new camera App, it is Line Camera. Do you have an idea that this is causing the problem? I have another bit of info to relate, I am getting random false notifications, not with the flash, but I hear my Notification sound but there is nothing in the Notification bar. It's certainly possible, and the best way to find out is to uninstall it.

Another strange behavior - those don't coincide with the random pictures, do they?

Another good reason to prepare for and perform a Factory Reset.
