Can’t use night mode while using a theme

[Android Central Question]

Updated my S9 Plus with Android Pie last night and “can’t activate night mode while using a theme” - how do I get past this, do I have to delete all my themes, if so how and then what. Also where do I get new screen savers, wallpaper etc for Android Pie...? Sorry, likely a pathetic question to all you techie experts out there but I can’t find an answer online as to How to get past this “themes” business in order to get night mode switched on. Hope someone can help an old guy who loves his Samsung phones. Thanks

Many of the themes have a dark mode themselves for now.

I have a Samsung S9 Plus, just got Samsung One/Android P last week and have the same problem.

I started with a downloaded "custom" theme I bought but then tried various Samsung default themes and wallpapers including resetting the phone without success.

Someone please tell us how to remove the "Can’t use night mode while using a theme" error so Night mode can be enabled.

Same problem here. I can't find a way to not use a theme.
