Can battery be responsible for screen messing up?

I dropped my s5 in water recently and I took the battery out immediately and put it in rice with the battery. Then I cleaned it with 90% isopropyl alcohol and put it back in rice. After taking it out I saw the LDI on my battery was tripped and the ones on my phone were not. Everything works on my phone besides the screen sound, LED, vibration,it charges so could it be the battery?

Re: Can battery be responsible for screen messing up?

Have you tried removing the battery and running the phone while plugged into a charger?
If that works, then it could be the battery itself or the the contacts for the battery inside the device.

Hey sorry for the late reply. I have tried it and the phone doesn't seem to work without a battery. I don't think it worked before I dropped it in water eithe

It should power up with a constant power source, whether its the battery or A/C. You said the device charges so it is getting power to the device. Have you tried turning it on while charging and with the battery in or you take it off the charger when powering it up?
