Can anyone confirm whether or not the T-Mobile model does, in fact, support quick charge?

I have the Platinum QC 2.0 charger from Best Buy. I noticed the same charge speeds as with the included charger, until I plugged in a heavier gauge USB cable. I was using a cheap one with the QC 2.0 charger and went from around 280 mA (as measured by Ampere) to 550 mA.

Edit - I just rechecked at this time it was charging around 920 mA. I don't know enough about this technology to know what it is "supposed" to be charging at, but anecdotally it seems to be faster. Worth the $25 I spent to buy the charger? Probably not, but technology is fun.

Is that the Apps name? Ampere? I'll check what my Samsung block charges at if you want and we can compare!

I was reading somewhere about a bug with the G4 and how it only charges fast when the screen is off. I actually noticed this when I was transferring data to the phone and the battery was low. When the screen was on it took its sweet time to charge, but once I turned the screen off it charged much faster.

Were you using a Quick Charge block or the one out of the box?

My friend has the T-Mobile G4 and plugging it into my Anker QC 2.0 and the light indicator shows it's charging with QC 2.0.

Yes - It's in the play store (I don't have enough posts to include the link) - however if the G4 only fast charges when the screen is off, Ampere might not be reporting it accurately because it only captures the mA when the screen is on (the FAQ in the app states that it "goes to sleep" when the screen is off.)

It doesn't fully support quick charge 2.0, i. E. 50%.in 30 minutes like the s6 and Note 4. Even on the international unlocked, I get about 35% in half an hour with qc 2.0. The bundled charger does about 30% in the same time

I went from 20% to 70% in about 30 minutes using Samsung QC wallwort and USB cable. Make sure you use both. Not all cables are the same from experience. Also phone was OFF.

This was not my experience with the Samsung adaptive charger and cable.

It took me 1 hour and 38 minutes to charge from 4% to 100% yesterday using the Aukey Quick Charge external battery and a store bought Belkin cable that's mini usb with optional lightning cable adapter. FWIW.

I'll check it out and let know what I'm charging at and see! You'd think LG would release a OEM quick charge and solve all these problems were having lol

Is there something on the actual device that shows when its charging via Quick Charge vs a normal charger!?

I was using the Tenergy Quick Charge 2.0 block I bought off Amazon. The light turned green when I plugged it in, indicating it was using QC2.0, but it was slow until I put the phone in standby.

I have the same exact charger and can confirm it does work for quick charging. I have the T-Mobile G4.

Current devices: T-Mobile G4, Surface Pro 3 Core I5, and Moto 360

Past Devices - Phones: Galaxy S6, Galaxy Note 4, Nexus 6, Nexus 5, Galaxy Nexus, Nexus S, Galaxy Note 3, Galaxy Note 2, Galaxy S5, Galaxy S4, Galaxy S3, Galaxy S2, HTC Incredible, HTC EVO 4G, HTC EVO, HTC Hero, Motorola Photon.

Tablets: Nexus 7 (2013), Nexus 7 (2012), Lenovo Yoga Tablet 2 Windows 8.1, Dell Venue 8, Galaxy Tab Pro, Galaxy Note 10.1 2014 Edition, Galaxy Note 10.1, Galaxy Note 8, Kindle Fire HD 8.4, Kindle Fire HD 7, Kindle Fire, iPad 2, iPad 1, Nook HD, Nook.

I have the TMo G4 and tested it with the S6 Fast Charger.
The time it took to charge from 0 to 100% is the exact same time as it was charging with the non-quick charge cable and wall adapter that came with the G4 box.

I have seen people with QC 2.0 chargers that show the LED saying it is charging with QC 2.0, but no one ever did a straight up comparison, so I did it myself and found that it showed no difference. Maybe LG will activate it later?

I can confirm that the following three Aukey quick chargers are not compatible with either mine or my girlfriend's T-Mobile G4s:

Portable charger: Amazon.com: Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 10000mAh Portable External Battery Fast Charger (16.2W / 5V 9V 12V Supported, Quick Output) - Silver: Cell Phones & Accessories

Two port car charger: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B0...ag=hawk-future-20&ascsubtag=UUacUvbUpU4478226

Wall charger: Amazon.com: [Qualcomm Certified] Aukey Quick Charge 2.0 18W USB Turbo Wall Charger Fast Charger for Samsung Galaxy S6, S6 Edge and more (Included an 20AWG 3.3ft Micro USB Cable) -Black: Cell Phones & Accessories

Confirmed by plugging one phone at 20% into the wall charger and the second phone at 20% into my stock G3 charger and they both hit 40% at the same time. The other two chargers charge at the same rate as the wall charger so it's safe to say that none of these work, at least, with the T-Mobile G4. I

I think that has to be the case. They originally announced the phone without quick charge, then back tracked and said it will support quick charge. They probably weren't able to update the software at that point before the phone hit store shelves.

Hmmmm didn't you say tho T-Mobile confirmed that the G4 supported quick charge already? Or what was the tweet? Im curious if it is software or not!

Whoever monitors their Twitter says the G4 has quick charging, but my three recently purchased quick chargers say otherwise. I feel like whoever responded to me when I tweeted at both T-Mobile and LG is just going off of what LG has said to everyone else. However, LG didn't respond to confirm that the G4 does, in fact, have quick charge so I'm starting to feel like they're planning it, but it must not be activated in the software yet.
