Can anyone help me connect my LG G2 to my PC?

LG G2 - Wont connect to PC

So all I want to do is update the software on the device and add some music. However whenever I connect it to my PC no hard drive or anything at all shows up. The phone recognizes that the computer is charging it but nothing else.
1.) I have tried ALL of the different PC connections available on the phone.
2.) I have tried reinstalling the drivers for the computer.
The phone still refuses to register with my PC.
Any help would be appreciated.
What is weird is that when I first got the device it would show up on my comp. Now it wont.

Welcome to Android Central! First, what do you mean by updating your software? You don't need a PC connection for app updates or system updates. That is done over the air, either on wi-fi or mobile data.

When you connect the phone to your computer via USB, do you see a USB connection notification in the notification bar? If so, swipe down the shade and tap that notification. Then make sure MTP is selected.

I'm not sure if this glitch affected the G2, but Nexus devices had problems after a recent bad Windows Update in August. See these threads, in case they may apply to you as well:

I would like to root my device, but since it wont show up on my computer I can't.
Yes MTP is always selected when I try to connect to my computer.

Go to download mode and reinstall your firmware.

The G2 does not connect as USB storage, only as a portable media device.

To access the files on the internal SD, you need to turn on Wireless Storage in Settings > Networks >Share & Connect.

Then browse in Windows Explorer to the IP address it gives you.

This is an A, B, C.. guide.... to install LG USB drivers

Do a search for LG USB Drivers or download them from the LG G2 XDA general forum > Flash KDZ Stock rom thread

if you have any drivers or LG software installed.. remove it all now from PC and registry, reboot your computer.. and do this fresh...

1) Plug your phone into your PC, select slow charge mode and let WIndows install the relevant drivers
2) unplug then repolug your phone in again, this time select MTP from USB list and let those drivers install.. if you get "Failed" dont worry..
3) Goto Settings > General > About Phone > software information over and over until it says "your now a developer".. open developer optons > check usb debugging.. and plug phone in again.. letting the drivers install, if any fail dont worry.
4) now Install LG USB Drivers
5) follow steps 1 & 2 again.. to install any drivers that "failed"

When moving Music to your phone from a Media player in Windows 7 or 8, you need to select MTP mode on your phone
