Can anyone help me get my Nexux 7 2012 turned on?

new nexux 7 2012 won't turn on.

I purchased a Nexux 7 2012 Model on Amazon; it arrived today. I plugged it in right away and it charged for about 15 minutes. The screen looks backlit but there is no battery icon. I tried to turn it on but the screen only flickered. Am I doing something wrong? Is it a bad unit?

Welcome to Android Central! Was it a brand new unit, or a used/refurbished one? Did you try leaving it plugged in for a good 6 hrs or so before trying to power it on?

I think at this point it has charged at least 6 hours, but they were interrupted.

I'd just return it. No point in messing around with something that isn't working right as soon as you get it.
