Can anyone help me with my phone I'm locked out of?

Help please!!! I just bought my Huawei Nova 3e on the weekend and am locked out of it! I can't remember the pattern password and when I try to do a hard reset I get an error message saying the software isn't installed. I read somewhere that if you have enough incorrect tries you can log in with your Google account but all I'm getting is it constantly telling me to wait an hour to try again. This is so frustrating!

Welcome to Android Central! Sorry, but newer phones generally don't prompt you for your Google account if you fail the unlock enough times. Try doing a hardware key factory reset: https://www.hardreset.info/devices/huawei/huawei-nova-3e/hardreset/first-method/. Or is that what you've already tried?

Yes, that's what I've tried and it says the software failed to install

Did you buy this phone new or used? It makes me think the phone was modified or rooted. If possible, bring it back to where you bought it and see if you can get it exchanged or refunded.
