Having problems with S5 Mini

I only got this phone about two weeks ago and I'm finding that it has a couple of issues. One of which, the phone freezes for no apparent reason while I'm trying to use it, the same way a computer would if you were to do too many things at once. I close all my apps after using them (I'm used to saving battery on an iPhone), but its still really buggy. Another issue is the battery. I went to sleep last night leaving one app open by accident (a game I'd downloaded), left my phone on charge, then woke up this morning to a completely dead phone. I was relying on my phone to wake me up and its completely out of charge. I've tried taking the battery out and putting it back in again, but my phone won't seem to go on.

Anyone else with this phone having these issues? I'd like to take the phone back to the shop and shove it up their backsides. I'm almost 40 weeks pregnant and upgraded early to make sure I had a phone to contact my husband with if I go in to labour! Please help!

Welcome to Android Central! Does the phone turn on at all now? Can you boot into Recovery Mode and wipe the cache partition (which doesn't erase any personal data)? Reset: Samsung Galaxy S 5 | T-Mobile Support

What game were you playing the night that it died? A lot of times, misbehavior like this isn't so much due to the phone, but rather glitchy or conflicting apps that cause problems.

Also, habitually closing apps is not necessary with Android--it works much differently than iOS. See these articles:

Re: Having problems with S5 Mini

I managed to get the phone on, but I took the battery out for longer this time. When I got it turned on, the battery was sitting at 99%
I was playing a silly game called Bakery Story. I've deleted the app now, its not the first time the phone hasn't charged properly while that app has been open.
It is habit to close apps as I go, still getting used to Android as I had an iPhone for two years :)

Thank you for your reply!
