Sony Smartwatch 3 with standalone GPS

For the sony smartwatch 3, how do you think apps like runtastic and other running apps will know where you are via GPS if it doesn't have a data connection to download the maps? Will android wear versions have to predownload maps before hand or will it just be tracking distance and not exactly where you are?

Re: Sony Smartwatch 3 with standalone GPS

Well they would probably store you longitude and latitude in a log file and plot it when done the problem is so far none of the apps take advantage of the gps in the watch. I have tried them all... Why did Sony not develop their own app and disperse it with the watch. So the GPS is basically useless on this watch as of right now.

Re: Sony Smartwatch 3 with standalone GPS

Right now the tracker app (Google) creates a log of GPS plots and maps it when you sync the watch with your phone. It is quite buggy (or the GPS on the Smartwatch 3 is buggy) as I have not been able to get good GPS tracking on long runs.

I am going to post a separate thread about this...
