Can change font from white to black? After-market watch bands for Gear Fit? Latest version?

I bought a Samsung Gear Fit a few weeks ago. I love it. My phone is a Samsung Note 3. I have 3 questions about the Gear Fit:

1) Can one change the font color from white to black? The white font color is fine except when I choose a light-colored background/wallpaper and then it is hard to read.

2) I ordered/received the multi-colored Gear Fit watchbands from China. The name "Samsung" is not stamped on the buckle. I love the different colors but am wondering if they are good quality. Has anyone had any issues with the catch/buckle coming undone on these after-market watchbands? I think it's terrible that Samsung makes it so difficult for one to buy different colors. They aren't sold in any local retail stores.

3) How do I know if I have the most recent software version/upgrade?

1. Have not found a way of changing the font color. I cannot understand why Samsung designers possibly thought that only having white was a good idea. Do they really think that most users only use black backgrounds on phone/table/gear fit with all the color/photo options offered?

2. I have been wearing a set of after-market bands for about 3 weeks. I also bought the loops that go around the buckle (if I do this again, I will pay a bit more to get bands and loops from same source so that the colors match better.) I have had not problem with the buckle coming loose. In fact, even the colors I wear the most are still fairly hard to connect because the holes are tight.

3. Sorry, I don't know the answer to this. I am relying on the being notified when updates are available like I get for other apps.

Thank you, TEParker! I appreciate the response. I asked several Samsung people at Best Buy about changing the font color and they weren't aware of a way to do that.
On the after-market watchbands and security fasteners, I have ordered both through Amazon. The first set took weeks since it was coming from China, but the 2nd set only took a couple of days. I would HIGHLY recommend buying the security fasteners. I had my Gear Fit fall off my wrist and onto the sidewalk when a heavy bag I was carrying hit it and it popped off. What if I had been crossing a busy street with a truck bearing down on me?!? If yours hasn't fallen off yet, you are lucky.
