Can HTC One (M8) Windows Phone be converted to Android version?

I received an HTC One (m8) recently, but unfortunately it's the windows phone version. Since this has the same hardware as the Android version of the same phone, can it be converted? Thank you.


UPDATE: I received a Windows version of the phone as a replacement for my damaged Nokia Lumia 1520. I was informed it would be an android, but they unfortunately mistakenly thought I was receiving the Samsung Galaxy Alpha instead of the HTC One M8 for Windows. I like the M8, I just want the android version.

How exactly did you get the wrong HTC One? Did you order the wrong one? Was there a mixup with the delivery? Or did somebody give it to you?

While yes it may have been possible there are restrictions on the HTC One M8 for Windows that would prevent it from getting Android.

Also I wouldn't recommend leaving the Windows Phone version, because you're probably one of the lucky few 30 people that actually bought the phone. XD

How did you get the Windows version BTW if you liked Android more?

If you received the phone and would prefer to get an Android version, you should do what I would do. Sell it and buy an Android M8
