Can I activate an unlocked Nexus 6 on VZW?

Forgive me if this has been asked before, I looked through a few pages and couldn't find anything. Will I be able to activate a Nexus 6 purchased on the Play Store on Verizon? I'd seen some reports that devices don't play nice if not bought directly from the carrier, but those are from a few months ago so I'm not sure if anything has changed. Thanks!

Had a Droid Turbo on my account. Sold it, but kept the SIM. Put it in a VZW Nexus 6. Sold it, kept SIM. Put it in an unlocked Nexus 6 bought from amazon, was up and working in 30 seconds.

Yes. Purchased back in February from Motorola.com and it's been running flawlessly on VZW.

Bought mine from the play store, took it to a Verizon store and the gave me a SIM at no charge. Didn't even mess up my unlimited data plan.

Yes I got my N6 from best buy. I just put my droid ultra sim into the N6 and it activated, no problems. Have used it without any difficulties

sorry to bump an old thread, but if I were to do this (some good deals on used ones on Swappa), do things like Advanced Calling and visual voicemail work? I assume no, but are these the only 2 downsides?

Got mine from Motorola. VVM doesn't work on mine, but I'm not on stock rom. I have seen reports that it works on stock. Other features work fine.

Thanks for sharing this. Hopefully, this will mean that we can expect the 2015 Nexus variants to be officially supported as well.
