AC Question

I bought samsung galaxy s7 edge from UAE. I am in India now. I am unable to use Samsung Pay services in India. Also, Reliance Jio sim doesnt work in my phone. only data works, not calls and sms. Can I ask samsung India to update my phone with Indian ROM?

Hello there. Welcome to Android Central!

Sadly, as is the case with many companies, if your device came from a different market that's not intended for sale or use in where you currently live, official service portals may not be able to help you.

So, Samsung India may not be able to assist you in flashing Indian firmware on a phone designed for the United Arab Emirates. Plus, since they're designed for different markets, it may actually cause the phone to be wonky or worse, soft-brick itself.

Hello,

Need not go to Samsung service center. They wont do that. I bought an S7 edge UAE version. Now I am using it in India. Just flashed an Indian firmware in it and I am able to use Reliance Jio and Samsung pay as well.

Please follow below steps.
1. Download Indian firmware for your model from sammobile
2. Download ODIN
3. Add AP, BL, CP, CSC files in ODIN
4. Select F.reset time, Auto reboot, Re-partition
5. Click start and you are done.

Please follow the detailed instruction given below

They will simply say no. I visited them and they said it could brick the phone....they simply don't wanna do it for you

You could simply do it without rooting / bricking your phone

If you're ready to reset the phone….you could make Samsung pay work in India.

1) Turn off the phone

2) Take out all sim cards

3) Press volume key + Bixby key + Power key and release once you see Samsung logo

4) Erase the phone.

5) Please note after this step do not reboot but shut it down. If you choose the option reboot, CSC will not change and Samsung pay won't work. So select power off option

6) Insert Indian sim card in slot 1 before starting the handset

7) Start the phone. This will now adapt to Indian CSC and Indian carrier settings

8) Bingo….you're all set with Samsung Pay for Indian Cards. ENJOY…..!!

You can check Knox count it will be 0x0 which means no rooting done and warranty stays alive....!!

Cheers
