Can I change the boot animation without Root?

Ya know the boot up screen, is there anyway how to change it without rooting on my droid turbo?

Pretty sure you'll need root access to be able to accomplish this.

I'm not sure. In addition to having root access, you need read/write access to the system partition that persists after shutting down the phone in order for the change to stick. I'm not sure what the state of rooting the Turbo is these days, but in many cases you can't have it overwrite the sys partition.

Oh wow this sounds way over my noggin lately.. Better to leave the animation boot alone, i am so used to putting my phone down when turning it on though..

No. The boot animation is in /boot, which is write protected.
