Can I change what app opens a link?

Opening shared Web Links within the Samsung messaging app opens an odd "browser type" screen. Which never seems to load the page. Then I've gotta select to open in browser. Is there a way I can change this to where it just opens the link using Chrome?

Gave it a shot. It didn't work. Here's the screen I'm seeing

clear defaults for opening links in settings. settings >applications > default applications. change browser app to chrome or whatever browser you prefer.
