Ok so my phone took a swim in the pool over the weekend for about 60 seconds. The ole "bag of rice" trick dried it out. But now the screen has a some odd patterns under the glass. I don't know what part of the screen is actually discolored. If I scroll text and look closely, the text appears to float above the discolored areas (if that makes sense). Everything seems to work on the phone (phone, texting, gps, touchscreen, etc), but if I could take apart the phone (carefully), would I be able to clean it? Or is the screen damaged (LCD)?

Oh and apparently I don't have insurance, I did not know this until I tried to make a claim. So I'm trying to get my phone back to %100...or as close as I can get it. It's 34 days old :'(

Not unless you take it apart. Good luck with that. Bet you'll think twice before you jump in again! :p

Try to go to another store, and add insurance. Then make the claim maybe? Or htc might repair it cheaper than costing full retail. That's all I can think off. That sucks though sorry to hear that. Also unless you know what you are doing I wouldn't take it apart, you might mess it up even worse.

Put it in the Rice again and leave it there for a few days. (I know it's a PITA)

If it's moisture that is causing the distortion then the Rice will eventually pull it out.

See if you can add insurance to your line, wait a week then make a claim for it? Smash it with a hammer or something.

Can't add insurance. Can only add during the 14 day trial. Just have to take this as a lesson learned

Well well well, my phone is about 99% back to normal. It only has a slight horizontal line that can only be seen when you tilt the phone at a angle. The Incredible2 survived a near drowning!

Notes:
I thought I had insurance until I called to make a claim. And apparently you have 30 days after activation to get insurance. After that, you're screwed. I usually get insurance on phones until I can find refurbs for the same price as the claim deductible.

And I was pushed into the pool, I didn't jump in :D
