Can *I* Decide Whether or Not My Screen Locks??

I have an Honor 7X model BND-L24.

Android Version 7.0

Under Settings/Screen lock & passwords/Secure lock settings/Automatically lock there are times ranging from 5 seconds to 30 minutes.

Does this phone deny me the choice of not having a password screen when I wake it up or am I missing something??

There are choices of lock screen types - PIN, password ... and None. (Or Swipe.) If you choose none, the screen will stay on as long as the phone is turned on. (I'd suggest an app like Proximity Service so you can lay the phone down face down and have the screen turn off, so you don't burn the screen in. Sitting on a static home screen 8 hours every day could give you screen burn in, even on an IPS screen.)

I see no such setting allowing me to choose between PIN, password, None or Swipe.

I did eventually find where I could turn off the PIN requirement but it is obfuscated under where I set the PIN. Why would I have to set my PIN to make it so I don't need a PIN to unlock (especially when my PIN is already set). It makes no sense and that is why I had trouble finding it.

BTW I didn't say I wanted the screen to stay on. I said I wanted it to not require a PIN to turn it back on.
