Please help me fix my crashing issue
Hi, I have been having problems with my HTC One M8 since the 27th December. It is not rooted and i am using software 4.4.3. I have had the phone since September and had never previously encountered any major problems with the phone. I haven't dropped it or done anything to cause it to malfunction (that i know of).
On the 27th December my phone randomly crashed and reset for the first time. I didn't think much of it at the time to be honest, just thought it was a bit strange as I was not using it at the time.
Since then, the phone has continued to crash and reset every 30 minutes to one hour. Even stranger, every time the phone crashes all of my messages delete up until the time the phone crashed for the first time on the 27th December, the same also happens with any settings changes.
I have tried to fix this issue in a number of ways. First of all I let the battery run down and gave it a full charge which did not help. It then became clear that this problem wasn't going to go away by itself.
I then downloaded the HTC One Sync Manager on my computer and backed up all my photos and contacts etc as i prepared to do a factory reset.
I attempted to do a soft factory reset at first which did not work at all. It just wouldn't even attempt to reset, nothing changed at all.
I then tried to do a hard factory reset. This led to a black screen appearing with a picture of the phone in the middle of it and a red triangle with an exclamation within it.
Then i chose to wipe cache partition which did nothing. I then tried to do the 'wipe factory reset/data option'. This led to a bit more progress as the phone claimed to have reset my data. I then pressed 'reboot phone'. Unfortunately nothing had been wiped and my phone was in the same state.
I have tried deleting apps one by one and stopping apps running but literally nothing is working.
Is anyone able to help me at all or offer me a solution? This is extremely frustrating.
Thanks in advance,
Jordan
