Can I get some help moving apps to my SD card?

Problems moving apps to SD card.

I have several android devices
Samsung Galaxy Note 2, Sony Experia Tablet Z and a Acer Iconia Tablet. All are running 4.4.2 KitKat.
All three devices have micro SD card slots. My Samsung allows me to save apps to the SD card. My Sony allows me to save music and video but not apps to the SD card. My Acer recognises the SD card but there is no option to save anything to the card. Is there anyway ( Other than Rooting ) to save apps to the SD card? I'm guessing this question has been asked before, but i haven't been able to find a definitive answer, so please accept my apologies for repeating. Any help will be greatly appreciated.

Welcome to Android Central! The ability to move apps to SD depends on (1) the device allowing it at all, and (2) the app allowing it. Some devices don't have this feature at all, and for those that do, not all apps can be moved to SD. In those instances, you'd have to root and use an app like Link2SD.

Have you tried "MovetoSD" app? It is a nice app and I reallly like it. I suggest you to use this app. I hope your problem will be sloved.

There are quite a few apps with names similar to "MoveToSD." Can you be more specific? Many of those apps require rooting, which the OP was trying to avoid. The ones that don't require root probably don't do anything beyond what you can do in the App Manager.

Thanks for your help, pretty much what i thought. Have tried using some 3rd party apps, none of them worked. Makes sd card slots redundant in a lot of cases, which is a pity. Tanks again.

Thanks for your reply. I have tried a few apps similar to movetoSD, none of them worked. Maybe i'll try rooting, could be fun!
