Can I get some help rooting my HTC One M8?

HTC One M8 help

I tried to root my phone and I was not able to. I unlocked the bootloader but I got stuck trying to take s-off so I tried to undo what I did. That worked but my phone wont update at all. Can anyone help?

Did you start rooting it? A phone that shows signs of having been rooted in the past (which can happen if rooting it fails) should cause the update to fail (because a stock update could brick the phone). If you can't completely clean up all signs of rooting, the bootloader is locked and you're s-on, you'll probably have to reflash the stock ROM.

I attempted to root my M8 on 5.0.1. Everything went smoothly but it's not rooted. SuperSU says no su binary installed. Root checker shows not rooted. Has anyone successfully rooted an M8 on Lollipop?

I unlocked the bootloader and i tried to get s-off but I could not, so I relocked the bootloader but i can't get any updates on my phone, apps will update but the phone itself wont update, Also, my phone wont hard reset for some reason.

I also noticed that when I plug my phone in while in fastboot mode and I power it down, it just goes right back into fastboot mode. Again, not sure if that means anything but im trying to give as much info as I can, so hopefully someone can help me with my phone.
