help to save data with recovery (samsung note 2)

My phone just boots to the "Saumsung Galaxy Note II" screen and it is stuck there.
I m afraid using odin would erase everything.
I want to save my data, what should I do? Which rom do i use?

I tried downloading 3 to 4 roms but they all failed in odin.
Please specify what I need to download in order to save my data.
At this point, I am also ready to just give up and restore factory settings. I went to the at&t technicans, who are completely useless and they used their roms and couldnt help at all.

Please help!

If you flash a ROM you wipe out all your data - any ROM.

It has to be one specifically written for your model Note 2.

If you can get to recovery (volume up instead of volume down that gets you to download), try reading Recovering files via adb (Post #22).

They're good, but not as good as some of the people on XDA. They fix or replace phones, they don't make Linux play tricks (like some of the people on XDA do).

Hi, sorry can you elaborate?
The roms I downloaded are for note 2 as I have rooted it before.
I get all sorts of E:/ cannot mount xxx error messages when I do volume up + power + home button.
I tried wiping the cache as well as wiping memory but neither has worked!
