contacts and message opening problem

I am using lenovo p70 phone. Its a good phone. But ther is a probkem in opening contacts and messages... When when i open message or contacs it will get hanged and after some tome it retrieved and get normal.. Again when i click to open same priblem happening... So i checked it contact storage in settings>app>all>contact storage
And checked size.. Upps i found 1.27 gb.. And get shocked.. Any of phone unable to handle this much of size. So i want to clear data bt it shows disable... Now what should i do.. Any one can help me???
