Digitizer Replacement

Hey guy's, my screen broke a couple of months ago when a jerk ended up throwing my note on the ground, the screen itself still works, but it's cracked, So i'm guessing i'm going to need a replacement digitizer/screen. I've been looking at them on google, and some run from 19 bucks to 50 bucks, I'm not entirely sure what to get. Are you able to get actual OEM replacement parts? Or are they all aftermarket? Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Re: Digitizer Replacement

You could buy one from Samsung, but the aftermarket ones from reputable sources are just as good. The problem isn't the digitizer, it's you. Have you ever removed the glass from a phone or tablet? If not you'll probably pull it off when it's too cold, probably puncturing the screen with the broken glass, or overheat it and damage the screen with heat. In either case, you're going to have to take the tab apart and replace the whole screen. Ever worked on a crowded electronic device with tiny parts crammed in all over? If not, you'll probably break something, pinch a wire or do some other damage. By the time you give up, you will have spent a lot of money and still have a non-working tablet. (And no reputable repair shop will touch a job like that, because the diagnosis will be about twice the price of a new tab.)

Do it the cheap way - bring it to a repair shop and pay to have the digitizer replaced.

Re: Digitizer Replacement

You can find the display and digitizer on ebay for under $200. But as previously posted, if you have never replaced a display before you should send it off to samsung for repair. I didn't see just the digitizer for sale.
