AC Question

I have a Samsung Galaxy S6 running Samsung's version of Android 6.0.1. When I start the Phone app there are three choices across the top: LOG, FAVORITES, and CONTACTS. My questions concern the FAVORITES tab.

I have added five favorites. Several of them have both a work number and a mobile number. If I tap one of those favorites and select one of the two numbers I get this annoying message asking me if I want to make this one the default or is this a just once call.

Question 1: is there any way to turn of that annoying message (without having to choose a default)?

For one of those two-number favorites I actually did make one of the numbers the default. Then I tried to add another favorite, namely the same contact with their other number but when I use the ADD feature that person's name is missing from the Contacts list.

Question 2: How do I add the same person's other number as a favorite?

Thanks in advance for any assistance.

Welcome to Android Central! I don't have a direct answer for you, but allow me to suggest what may be a better solution: use the Direct Dial widget. When you add a Direct Dial widget to your homescreen, it will ask you to select a contact, and then select a specific phone number for that contact (if it has multiple numbers). The resulting widget is a one-touch calling icon--unlike the Contacts widget, it won't prompt you to choose a number each time you tap it.

You can create a bunch of Direct Dial widgets and put them all in a folder on the homescreen, which essentially becomes your Speed Dial folder.
