Help with USB on Sony S2 Tablet

I have just purchased my first Android tablet, ( Sony Experia SGP512GB tablet ), and using a OTG cable I plugged a 16GB Usb drive in, it was shown as loaded, but I could not find how to open it to view the files on it.
The files are Jpg (photo's) and MP3 (music)
As a newbie, what am I missing.

You should be able to see the files from your File Manager (or My Files or something similar, I don't know what it's called on a Sony tablet). It should appear as an external drive, just like it would on a computer IF the drive was really recognized.

Remember, if your drive is formatted as NTFS, it won't be read by your Android device. You can only use FAT32 and ExFAT formatted drives.

I think you have solved my problem, I have just checked the USB stick and it is formatted to NTFS.

Thanks for your reply.

Glad I could help, and I do hope that's the solution. Try formatting using ExFAT and plug it in again. :)

Great! Now bear in mind that FAT32 will only allow you to have files up to 4GB, so large movie files, for instance, are a no-go with this card format (and it also limits the supported card size). That's why we usually recommend ExFAT, which allows for larger files and it's really the only option for larger cards.
