Can I recover a deleted picture?

I accidentally deleted a picture the other day that I would really like to somehow recover. I have my phone set up to sync all my photos to Google but I think I deleted the photo before it synced. I have found software online to help recover data from your phone but from what i can tell it requires your phone to be rooted and I'm not sure that's something I want to do. Any help on insight on this would be greatly appreciated. I have a Galaxy S7. Thank you!

Welcome to Android Central! First, open your Google Photos app, tap Menu, then Trash, and see if the photo is there. You can also do this on photos.google.com on your desktop browser.

If it's not there, then do you know if the photo was saved to Internal Storage or the SD card? It's easier if it's the SD card -- see this guide: http://forums.androidcentral.com/am...-s/500142-guide-recovering-deleted-files.html

Thanks for the reply back....unfortunately the photo never made it to Google Photos so it's not there or in the trash on Google Photos. I also don't have an SD card installed on my phone so I know it's not there. I did have some success using an app called diskdigger- I was able to find the picture but when I restore it comes back in awful resolution- almost like the size of a postage stamp- so when I try to make it bigger it just distorts the picture. It does tell me where the picture is if that is helpful. Any insight on how to possibly restore the picture with the original resolution would be great apprecaited. Thank you again for the reply back.
