Can i restore Notepad app info?

I have a Huawei P20 phone. I went to Notepad app today and unexplainably all my info has disappeared (I know this sounds unbelievable!) I have not been on the app for a number of days, so definately did not delete the info myself. And under 'Recently Deleted' tab in the app, there is nothing! I checked the Huawei services app, but sadly backup of that app was not checked so i cant retrieve from there. Is there any way to recover my valuable notes?

Welcome to Android Central! You're most likely out of luck, sorry.:-\ For important information, I always recommend against using the stock notepad apps on a phone, since those almost never backup or sync anywhere automatically -- so if something happens to the app or to the phone, all of that important information is lost. In the future, stick with a note-taking app that syncs automatically, like Google Keep Notes, Google Docs, Evernote, OneNote, etc.

Use your file manager to look for the notes. If it saves them as files, you might find them somewhere. (The text editors I use both do that.) Then just open a file from the Notepad app, look there (where you found the file) and open it.

If you can't find it (or the Notepad app saves everything to a database) then, as B. Diddy said, you're probably out of luck. (If that's the case, get a better notepad-type app - one that saves files.)
