I'm glad they are contributing and I'm glad they are involved...however on their second release they borked peoples phones with their patch, and on their last release, although really cool and innovative, put out something that opens your phone up entirely with no way to put it back to stock. Again I'm happy for them that they were able to do this and happy for the community that there is a way to do this, but to public release something like this seems...irresponsible.

Yup its like letting kids Run around with Knives and such...

People aren't very smart... Why Release this with the danger of well
*you might be able to break your phone... BTW its not our fault*

This is frustrating, my external speaker is blown. I didn't do anything stupid, it just went bad. Barely two months old and the speaker goes. Anyway I have root and refuse to lose it. I am waiting for a new root method before I return this phone for a replacement; as I am sure it will have the latest locked down version on it :(

Maybe Maybe not... you can always refuse for the Rep to update anything on the phone...

Already called my local Sprint store. They want me to come in so they can make sure the speaker is bad. When they find that it is they will order me a replacement that should take three to five business days to arrive. They will then call me to swap them out and I don't want to take the chance of the new phone being on a locked down OS.

either way you need a replacement, so you probably have a better chance of getting a replacement with Eclair (2.1) the sooner you get it. Good luck!!
