Can I set the phone to store all downloaded media contents into the external SD card instead of its internal storage? I just found out that the Camera app has that option, but what about MP3 downloads and such?

Not true. There is no setting under storage on the TMO SGS2 to set the storage location. I just checked. Unless it;s the rom I'm using. Juggernaut 5.0.
Am I missing something?

Edit: Just caught that you said in browser. My bad.
What about setting Apps to SD? 16GB internal SD almost full but 32GB external SD has 24GB free. Would like to run apps off the external SD. Any way to do that?

Not all apps will let you do that, but Settings: Applications: Manage Applications

Check each app, if it allows moving to SD card, that option will be available. If not, it will be greyed out.

How to set external SD card as default media storage?

Hi! I have a Samsung SGH-1727. I have a 32GB external SD but all downloaded files except for the ones that can be moved to the SD are saved in the USB storage, even though the folder says /sdcard. I found out that the files were actually saved in the USB because when I downloaded the Astro File Manager app and went to check what was in the SD Card Usage, the total capacity indicated for the USB was 11.52GB and that I only had 1.73GB free space. I know that my external SD card has 32GB. I would like to transfer all media files like music, videos and pictures from the USB storage (currently named /sdcard) to the actual 32GB external SD card. I don't even know where the external SD card is because it seems like all files are going into the USB storage. I will greatly appreciate if someone can help me with this dilemma. Thank you.

After I posted this inquiry yesterday, I tried to move all folders to a folder called EXTERNAL SD within the /SDCARD. That did the trick. Now all of my media downloads are in my 32gb. I still have about 18gb on my external sd and my USB storage was restored to 10gb. :-)

Re: How to set external SD card as default media storage?

vgot2go - I'm in the same boat that you were in. What I want to know is what file manager did you use to do this? And did you copy the entire SDCARD folder over to EXTERNAL SD? Or did you just move certain things like apps, music, etc.?

Thanks for your reply.

to save photos on the sd card, open the camera, then hit the 'wheel' button on the top left of the screen..... a whole menu will come up, and storage is one of them. scroll down to the very bottom and click the button that says 'storage' it will give you the option to store on the external sd card.

I have an Epic G4 and when I go to camera, then settings, there is NOT a storage option. Any ideas on how I can default pics to SD?

On an unrelated note, it's advised that you don't store applications on an external SD card as the read/write speeds are abysmally slower, therefore resulting in less-than-stellar app performance. (This mainly applies to games that have large amounts of app data to store. Regular apps don't really suffer too much if stored on an external SD.)

but what about Bluetooth ??
if i want to save all data which is received via Bluetooth to get saved in memory card then what should be done or the data which is downloaded via whatsapp or any other aap

This App automatically redirects WhatsApp media to the External SD Card or every Folder you want in order to save memory: on Google Play digit Nicola Rosada and select the app Photo & File Redirect.
