Can I turn off smoe notification sounds? I i=only want text md=sg notifications

I get alerts when I get a Twitter post and other games, plus Waze, I only want text messages to notify me

Welcome to Android Central! You can turn off individual notifications for most apps by opening the app, tapping Menu, and checking the app settings for notification options. If you don't find an option there, then go to Settings>Apps​, select the app, and uncheck the "Show Notifications" box.
