Just hooked up an Echo Dot. Took me a few minutes to figure out why the setup wouldn't complete. I didn't have wifi enabled on my phone. (Where I live) mobile data is faster than wifi. SO, it looks like Echo Dot requires my phone to have wifi enabled all the time. I know wifi trumps mobile data. Is there a way I can force my phone to continue to use mobile data instead of wifi connection?
Thanks

On some phones you can use mobile data when Wi-Fi is connected, it is called <turbo download> and located in phone settings, but as the name described it is for speeding up your download only. It's also available to allow your phone automatically use cellular data when no Internet connection on Wi-Fi.

Yes it's in the wifi settings where you select your routors ur gonna connect to.. I use it some times

Thank you DragOn and Morke. Morke, I didn't find the setting in my Verizon branded Wifi settings. But, good news. I don't need it after all. Despite needing the phone's wifi to be on to set up the Echo Dot, it doesn't need for me to keep a wifi connection (on the phone). Echo is linked to my home's wifi. I tried turning off wifi on my phone and it continued to work :)
