Can no longer save images from Google Image search?

Today I noticed that I can no longer save any images to my phone which are returned by Google Image search. I only now have an option to Share. No longer can I save the image. Pressing my finger on the image and holding it doesn't bring up any menu nor is there any feedback. And the menu in the upper right only allows me to Share.
I checked my storage and still have over 10 GB. I am also able to save attachments and am able to save images if they are displayed on a web page. But once an image opens from Google Image, all I can do is zoom in/out and Share.

Anyone have any idea on this?

Which browser are you using? I can save images fine with boat browser.

If you image search through the actual browser then you can. I noticed that if you use the widget search bar, then you don't have the option. I noticed too the other day

I noticed this too. I am sure it has something to do with copyrights. Capture a screen shot and edit out the unwanted parts of the photo while viewing it in the gallery; then delete the original photo. It just adds a step. I used to use google-returned images as comments on Facebook, nothing more nefarious than that. I never made any money from the images nor did I plan to. The only thing this change in policy/ability has accomplished is tacking on maybe 30 seconds and a few more clicks to the equation.

It has nothing to do with copyrights, you can still download pics using desktop view on your mobile. It's just that some features are restricted in the mobile version.

Its just the google search app. It works if you do it in chrome or the default browser. Though Samsungs browser also does not allow it.
