I mixed my two wires together and I can't tell which from which. I'd like to know if using the V wire would actually hurt the Slider somehow?

There's no way that the V charger could "hurt" the Slider.

I use my Pantech Laser charger for my Slider and it works just fine... so don't even worry about that.

Any MicroUSB charger will work. I use the Optimus V's charger and had no problems. Been using it for 5 months now. I didn't see the need to use the charger that comes with the Slider since I already had the V's and both of them are the same.

If you're ever in doubt make sure the voltage on the charger at least matches the voltage on your battery or is at least less. If it's higher it'll ruin your battery.

By law every device (besides apple and I think tablets) HAVE to be micro USB. So yes it will fit and charge

Most micro USB chargers should work with any device with such a port. Just be careful it is rumored that capacitive touch screens can freak out and do their own thing when plugged into a 3rd party charger. I Googled "touch screen freaking out". I never would have believed it if it hadn't happened to my Optimus Q while plugged into my friend's charger. Phone was acting on its own, launching apps, dialing random contacts etc. It acted like the touch screen was posessed. Then when I took the phone in the other room to show my friend it had stopped. When I Googled the problem this is what I came across. I don't know if this can damage the phone and battery or not though.

It wont damage it. I have been using a walmart wall charger for my slider since i got it, and yes it does freak out but it has done nothing to my phone what so ever

Pretty sure all smart phones have voltage regulators built in, and most chargers do also, I have used the same chargers on Motorola, VM and other phones w/o any issues, heck I use the Jabra BT charger to charge the Slider, Jabra piece, Jabra freeway, I'll charge the toaster if the wife will let me.

been working with electricity for a while now that sounds like stray voltage causing the screen to think something is interacting with it.
anyways i just thought i would pop in and add the micro usb are set the same/unless there is a problem with the wire or ac/usb converter
I am actually charging my optimus slider with my LG Chocolate touch cable lol
